In the Waldorf Kindergarten, the teachers create an environment that fits the children and through planning a rhythmical series of activities that allow freedom of movement within a structure that holds and supports the children.
Daily, Weekly & Yearly rhythmical planning are represented in the kindergarten and these are repeated so that the child becomes reassured and led by the consistency of his/her experience each time they return to the kindergarten. What is required of them becomes self-evident as a result of the carefully structured environment, in which rhythm is a type of “inborn authority” for the child.
